Nicole & Joel celebrated their wedding with a small family gathering at The Lodge at Allardale during a beautiful, rainy spring day. It was such a sweet, romantic and intimate day and we loved every minute of it. We’ve known Nicole for several years and met Joel last year when we were discussing wedding plans with them. They’re two peas in a pod and perfect for each other. They love to travel and love the outdoors, so when they told us they were planning a family hike during the reception we were super excited to have the chance to trade out our dress shoes for hiking boots. We’re a hiking family too, so we loved the idea of celebrating your wedding day by doing something you love together with family. This was also followed by a bonfire to finish off the night. It just kept getting better and better. ;o) We loved this day and we know you’ll enjoy seeing it too…
This is the moment after, just to get you excited, but this is how the day started…
Always the best moment of the day…
Such a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony…
Those flowers!!!
You guys were so cute together…
Love this one! The depth and colors in the trees were just gorgeous that day…
One of our favorite ring photos ever!
The Lodge was such a beautiful location for a smaller wedding…
This is called: Beers / Beards / Bros.
One our favorite wedding activities ever. We wish we could do a hike during every reception…
And a few of the guys doing our thing. Our friend Paul came to help out as a second shooter since Christy was home with our new 2 week-old son. He’s bald too, so it was like having a clone help me out. We should have worn matching suits just to confuse everyone…
